Tabasco

C$3.00Price
(C. annuum) (100+ days) Small and very hot pepper famous for the sauce sharing its name, but is actually made from cayennes. Peppers grow upright on the plant are quite ornamental as they ripen, changing colour from white to yellow, orange, and red. This pepper is commonly used to flavour vinegar (usually when yellow) for sprinkling on salads or cooked greens. Fruit takes a long time to turn red, but you'll get plenty of yellow ones before frost, and Tabasco does well in containers which can be taken indoors in the fall.
