Sweet Pea Red Currant
(L. Pimpinellifolium) (75-80 days) Currant tomatoes are a separate species from all other garden tomatoes. They produce gazillions of tiny (¼”), round fruits with a nice, sweet/sharp taste. This variety has bright red fruits that liven up a salad (if you don't eat them all before you get back to the house!). Currant tomatoes will easily cross with each other, but not with regular tomatoes. Kids love them for eating fresh, and they’re great sprinkled whole in a salad! Does well in a large pot.
