Squash, Uchiki Kuri
C$3.00Price
Unusual bright orange-red skinned squash from Japan. Semi-bush vines bear tear-drop shaped, 3 to 5 pound fruits shaped with smooth skin with almost no ribbing. This is a good variety to grow in a smaller garden due to its semi bush habit.
Uchiki Kuri is a very uniform strain, aka ‘Orange Hokkaido’ with sweet, creamy yellow flesh and a nutty flavour.
This variety is actually a Hubbard type of squash which are also good winter keepers. (see Burgess Buttercup) We are really happy to find Hubbard that is small enough for a family of less than 10- most Hubbards weigh in at 10 -12 pounds or more.
