(C. annuum) (100+ days) Very closely related to the wild Tepin chile, Pequin peppers are believed to have originated in Mexico long ago. They are a tiny chile at only 1" long, and rate 50,000+ Scoville units. The plant can grow 4' tall, and peppers change from green, to orange and finally orange red. In Mexican cooking they are usually dried, crushed and sprinkled on dishes to serve.
