(Monarda citriodora) Not really mint, but a relative of bee balm, this is an excellent citrus-flavoured herb that attracts bees and pollinators and is a beautiful garden flower as well.

Lemon Mint is native to most of the United States and Mexico and grows best in prairies. It is also known as "lemon bee balm" and "purple horsemint" and is said to have been used by the Native Americans for medicinal purposes.

This self-seeding annual grows to 24-30 inches tall. The purple flower bracts attract bees and the leaves are aromatic and citrus-flavored.
