Celery, Golden Self Blanching
Golden Self Blanching is a European heirloom celery that is relatively easy to grow from bedding plants. While tying and blanching the plants as described for Tall Utah can be done, as the name implies, this is not necessary to get a mild flavoured celery.
As per Tall Utah, just set your plants out about a foot apart and keep them well watered- celery doesn't like to dry out and may bolt if the plants get too dry. You can use the plants any time you like, and if you cut stalks off the plant as needed it will keep growing. Celery gets sweeter after a frost and can be kept in the garden under a straw much well into the winter.
The flavour is milder than Tall Utah and more suitable for chopped salads and other raw uses, as well as in cooking.
Sold in packs of 4 plants.
